I CORNELIUS SHARP of Claverack in the County of Albany, farmer, being in perfect health of body and of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mightly Power of God, and, as touching such Worldly Estate whensoth it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form- Viz. I give and bequeath to CHRISTIAN, my Dearly beloved wife, all my estate real and personal wherever otherwise constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, Singular my lands masuages Tenements and all my household goods and other moveable estate of any kind, name or nature all which my wife is freely to enjoy and dispose of as her own and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any way before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 8th day of April 1766 ~ (his mark) X CORNELIUS SHARP Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said CORNELIUS SHARP as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each of us other have hereunto subscribed our names Joseph PIXLEY, John WHITE, Peter WHITE ~~ Columbia County- So Be It Remembered that on the twenty second day of February one thousand seven hundred and ninety personally came and appeared before me Killian R. VAN RENSSELAER Surrogate of the said County Peter WHITE of the Town of Hillsdale in the County aforesaid and being duly sworn on his oath deposes and saieth that he saw CORNELIUS SHARP sign and seal the within written instrument purporting to be the will of the said CORNELIUS SHARP bearing date the 8th day of April 1763 and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the time thereof he, the said CORNELIUS SHARP was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that Joseph PIXLEY and John WHITE and the deponent severally subscribed the said Will as witnesses thereto in the Testators presence. VAN RENSSELAER, CHRISTIAN SHARP, the Executrix mentioned in the within written will of CORNELIUS SHARP and was duly sworn to the true execution and performance of the said will by taking the oath of an Executrix as by law appointed before me ~ (signed) K.R. VAN RENSSELAER The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God free and Independent lo all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greetings: Know ye that at Claverack in the County of Columbia before Killian R. VAN RENSSELAER Esq. Surrogate for said county the last Will and Testament of CORNELIUS SHARP deceased, (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and now approved and allowed of by us, and the said deceased, having whilst he lived and at the time of his death Goods, Chattels or Credit within this State by means whereof the Proving and Registering the said will, and the granting Administration of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and credits, and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us: the Administration of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his will is granted unto CHRISTIAN SHARP, Executrix in the said Will named, she being first duly sworn will and faithfully to Administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and Singular the said goods Chattels and credits, and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required.
