Since it came to pass according to God's Holy Will that I must pay the wages of sin by death in the course of time as all men must inevitably, I, being of sound mind, have wished the following will and testament to be carried out as my last will. And of course first of all I commit my soul to my Redeemer Jesus, and request that my body after my death be given a Christian burial. Now as to what pertains to the property of my temporal effects, it is my will that all debts and funeral expenses be paid out of it. (1) I will to my son Thomas Lowe and to my son Jacob Lowe this farm and dwelling in such a way that both brothers share alike wages forever as to ( ) the property of them and their families. (2) On the other hand Jacob Lowe and Thomas Lowe are to pay ten pounds to each of their brothers and sisters, thus that first of all and to be paid in the first year to my daughter Catharine and to my daughter Anna and to my daughter Maria three months after my death ten pounds are to be paid.
