First of all I give & recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it me and my body to the earth to be decently buried according to the discretion of my executor herein after mentioned. As to my worldly estate which God in his providence has been pleased to endow me with I give and dispose of as follows. I give to the heirs of my son in law Nathan Rowley deceased one dollar to be paid them by my Executor. I give to my beloved Grandaughter Nancy Souls, wife of Benjamin Souls, my grate bible book to be delivered to her at my death. I give the remainder of estate to my three daughters and two grandaughters in the following manner namely I give to my daughter Sarah one , fourthly for Benjamin Souls to pay the expenses of my burial and all my lawful debts & legacies out of my estate and it is to be understood that it is my will that all the remainder of my estate which I may be possessed of at the day of my death to be divided in the following manner the one fourth part to my Daughter Nancy & one fourth part to my Daughter Martha & one fourth part to my daughter Sarah & one fourth part to be equally divided between my three grandaughters namely Nancy Souls wife of Benjamin Souls and wife of Daniel It is to be understood that these gifts be to them and their heirs forever I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all & every other former testament or testaments will or wills legacies whatsoever. I do hereby nominate and appoint Benjamin Souls Executor to this my last will & testament Ratifying & confirming this & no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of Feburary in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twelve Signed Sealed & acknowledged to be my last will & testament in presence of Jonah Kieler, Rebecca Kieler, Nancy [her mark] Jackson [seal] Columbia Be it remembered that on this tenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and twelve Jonah Kieler personally appeared before me Martin Van Buren Surrogate of the County of Columbia and being duly sworn deponeth & saith that he saw Nancy Jackson sign the above instrument purporting to be her last will & testatment and that at the time of the execution thereof she was of sound & disposing mind and memory according to the best of the knowledge & belief of this deponant and that Rebecca Keeler Betsy & this deponant severally subscribed their names as witnesses in the presence of the testatrix & of each other. M V Buren Columbia be it also remembered that on this same day & year aforesaid Benjamin Souls Executor in the said will named personally appeared before me the said Surrogate and was duly qualified to the due performance & execution of the said will by taking the oath by the law appointed. M V Buren The people of the State of New York by the grace of God free & independant, To all to whom these Presents shall come or may concern Know ye that at Hudson in the county of Columbia the day of the date hereof before Martin Van Buren Esquire Surrogate of the said County the last will & Testament of Nancy Jackson deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved & is now approved & allowed of by us & the said deceased having whilst she lived & at the time of her death goods chattels & credits within this state by means whereof the proving & registering the said will & the granting administration of all & singular the said goods chattels & credits doth belong unto also the auditing allowing & final discharging the account thereof, doth belong unto us, the administration of all & Singular the goods chattels & credits of the said Deceased, and any way concerning will is granted unto Benjamin Souls Executor in the said will named, he being first duly sworn well & faithfully to administer the same & also to make & a true & perfect inventory of all & singular the said goods Chattels & credits & to give account thereof when required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said surrogate to be hereunto annexed.
