In the Name of God Amen. I Peter Hawver of the Town of Livingston County of Columbia + State of New York being in perfect health of body sound mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that is appointed for all men once to die do make ordain this my last will and testament, In the following manner and form. First, It is my will and do ordain that my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid out of my estate by my Executors after named. Second, I give and bequeath to Margaret my dearly beloved wife the sum of three hundred dollars, one cow, four sheep, one bed and bedding which belongs to it, that is the say the bed where we sleep in constantly, one chest together with all her apparel, and also she is to have her keeping and maintenance from and of the farm which I possess during her natural life. Also, I give and bequeath to the children of my deceased daughter Hannah wife of Nicholas Segandorph, the sum of one hundred dollars to be equally divided among them I have for them (at least one word obscured) to be paid by my executors after the attain at the full age or (several words obscured) out of my estate. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret wife of Adam Dings the sum of (several words obscured) be paid by my executors our of my estate after my decease. Also I give and bequeath to my son John the sum of twenty five sents to be levied and paid by my executors out of my estate. I also give and bequeath to Katharine my daughter, wife of Jacobus Decker, the sum of twenty five cents to be paid and levied out of my estate by my executors after named. Also, I give and bequeath to my son Peter's oldest boy named Edward my silver watch after my decease. Also, I give and bequeath to my son Peter the sole right and possession of my farm where I at this present dwell and live upon, together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, for and during the lives of a (cannot read two words) covers the same (which is myself + wife) for him my said son Peter truly to possess and enjoy during the said lives - and I also give unto my said son Peter all my personal property which I do possess after my decease (except what is given heretofor) that is to say all my horses, cows, sheep, hogs, pigs together with all my household furniture and farming utensils. Also, all bonds, notes and book debts, due me after my decease. May it be understood and it is my will that should it happen that if my said son Peter was to die before his wife that all the aforesaid mentioned property divided and bequeathed to him my said son Peter shall become and fall in the hands of his lawful children by them to be enjoyed after they become of a true age in equal proportion. Further, and lastly I constitute make and ordain my son Peter Hawver Junior + Peter Fries, executors of this my last will and testament. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disamend, all and every former statements, wills, legacies, bequests and execution by me in any ways beforenamed written and bequeathed rectifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. That at the time of the Execution thereof he the said Peter was of sound disposing mind + memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of the deponent, and that Frederick Reichert and this deponent severally (sub)scribed their names as witnesses thereunto in the presence of the Testator and each other. James I Van Alen Surrogate State of New York, County of Columbia Ls: Be it remembered that on the same day and year last aforesaid Peter Hawver Junior and peter fries executors in the said will named came before me at the said Surrogate and were duly qualified to the due performance and execution thereof by taking the oath as in each case is by law appointed James I Van Alen Surrogate The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God, free and Independent: To all to whom these Presents shall come or may concern send greeting: Know ye that at Kinderhook in the County of Columbia the day of the date thereof before James I Van Alen Esquire Surrogate of our said County the last will and testament of Peter Hawver deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved, and is now approved and allowed of by us, and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of death, goods, chattels or credits within this state by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will, and the grant administration of all and singular the goods, chattel + credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us; the administration of all + singular the goods, Chattels + Credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his will is granted unto Peter Hawver Junior and Peter Fires Executors in the said Will named they being first duly sworn will + faithfully to administer the same and to make + exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all + Singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also to render a Just and true account thereof when thereunto required.
