Registered the 29th day of March 1824. In the name of God Amen I John Peter Shoemaker of the town of Kinderhook in the county of Columbia being weak in body but of sound mind & memory considering the uncertainty of this transitory life and the certainty of death do make, publish & declare this my last will and testament in manner & form following. First, it its my will and I hereby order and direct that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid by my executors herein after named out of my personal estate. Secondly I constitute and appoint John A. Shoemaker, Peter H. Bain and Ebenezer Kingman, all of the town of Kinderhook and county aforesaid executors of this my last will and testament. Thirdly it is my will and I do hereby authorize and empower my said executors herein afore named to dispose of my estate as is hereafter directed that is to say I give, bequeath to my son Adam Shoemaker all of my land on the west side of the road leading from the Follichie Mills to the Fish Lake to him, his heirs and assigns forever without any *reserve* whatever. I also give him the said Adam all my personal estate whatever except that which is in my house I also give him the said Adam all of my lands on the east side of the aforesaid road Viz forty one & half acres purchased of Christopher *Blau* And twenty four acres purchased of David Bullock to him his heirs and assigns forever by paying the following bquits??? That is to say to my son John A. Shoemaker (note:the phrase "*carrys* over" is written directly over the name of John A. shoemaker) the sum of ten hundred and fourteen dollars and sixty seven cents. To my son Henry Shoemaker the sum of ten hundred and fourteen dollars and sixty seven cents. To my daughter Elizabeth Niver the sum of ten hundred and fourteen dollars and sixty seven cents. To my daughter Mary Niver the sum of six hundred and fourteen dollars and sixty seven cents. To my daughter Sary Rockefeller the sum of four hundred and fourteen dollars and sixty seven cents. All payable in five years after my death with lawful interest from the time of my decease. I also give and bequeath to my son John five hundred dollars out of a note I hold against my son Henry Shoemaker to be paid in five years after my decease without interest. It also give and bequeath to Peter Brant of the town of Ancram five hundred dollars out of a note that I hold against my son Henry Shoemaker payable in five years after my decease without interest providing he lives to receive it himself, if not the said sum of five hundred dollars is to revert to my heirs to be equally divided between them share & share alike. I also give and bequeath to each of my daughters one hundred and fifty dollars out of a note I hold against my son Henry Shoemaker to be paid at the expiration (note: carried over) of five years after my decease without interest the residue of the note which I hold against my son Henry Shoemaker Viz Eighteen hundred and fifty six dollars, I give & bequeath to my three sons to be equally divided between them. Henry is to retain one third part in his hands and pay his two brothers each one third part all payable five years after my decease without interest, all which my executors or survivors or survivor will see executed. I do hereby revoke all former wills and testaments by me made declaring this only to be my last will & testament.
