I Harriet Lape Rote of the town of Livingston in the County of Columbia and State of New York being of sound mind and memory do hereby make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner form following that is to say First. I order and direct my Executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary charges and to direct and to erect a monument at my grave at a cost of one Hundred Dollars ($100.00) as soon as they conveniently can out of my estate after my decease Second. I give and bequeath all my household furniture and supplies beds bedding wearing apparel and jewelry to each of my three sisters Catherine Eliza Carter, Gertrude Jane Schermerhorn, and Helen Maria Reese as may be living at the time of my decease to be divided between them equally share and share alike Third. I give and bequeath to my beloved husband Rufus Rote the use of income and equipment of all the residue of my property and estate of whatsoever name or nature and whensoever situated for and during the period of his natural life Fourth. After the death of my said husband I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my property and estate to my brothers and sisters . George W. New York Helen Maria Reese widow of Nathaniel Reese died now or late of Wisconsin and to the children of my deceased brother Jacob James Lape and to the children of my deceased brother John Edward Lape to be divided between them equally share and share alike, the children of my said deceased brothers Jacob and John to take the same share as their parent would have taken if living . In the event of the death of any of the above named legatees before my said husband, having issue surviving such issue to take the same share as their parent would have taken if living at the time of this distribution Fifth. I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my husband Rufus Rote and my friend Edward L. Gaul Esq. of Hudson N.Y. Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and hereby revoke any and all former wills by me made .
