Newlan of Eugene, who died July 7 of age-related causes. She was 84. Newlan was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Cortland, N.Y., to George and Grace Babbitt Abbott. She married Dale Newlan in Las Vegas on April 27, 1968. She was employed as a parts assembler for the Apollo space program at Autonetics in Anaheim, Calif. She moved to this area from Lynwood, Calif., in 1977. She was a member of the Irving Grange, and she enjoyed camping and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Donald and Dick Gill, both of Junction City, Darrell Gill of Wilsonville and Carl Johnson of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; four daughters, Eldora Bennett, Karen Lemieux and Clydene Hoffman, all of Junction City and Donna Osborn of Princeton, Kan.; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Tammy Gill, died previously. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. Friday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A reception will follow the service at the Irving Grange in Eugene. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens.
