David Samuelsen Cortland Co NY Wills Vol. R page 497 ALDRICH, Francis J., late of Truxton, Cortland, NY Probated 11 June 1888. S.s. Knox, Surrogate The Last Will and Testament of Francis J. Aldrich of the town of Truxton, County of Cortland and State of New York. I, Francis J. Aldrich being of sound mind and memory, aware of the uncertainity of life and the certainity of death, and desirous of making an equitable and proper disposition of my property at my decease, I do make, ordain, publish, and declare thus to be my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: First, I give devise and bequeath to my niece Marion Barber the farm on whcih I now reside containing about fifty five acres of land situate in the town of Truxton & Cuyler, NY. 15 85/100 acres of said farm is knwon as the Schermerhorn Lot and about forty acres thereof is known as the McKnight Vedder place to be hers absolutely and forever. 2 - I also give adevise and bequeath to the said Marion Barber all the house hold furniture of every kind that I may own at the time of my death. 3d I also give and bequeath to the said Marion Barber one gold watch & chain formerly owned by my deceased wife. 4. I also give devise and bequeath to the said Marion Barber the sum of one thousand Dollars. 5. I give devise and bequeath to my nephew Fred Lewis my other gold hunter case watch and chain. 6. I also give devise and bequeath to my sister electa M. Lewis and to my nephews Charles A. Lewis & Fred Lewis all the rest residue of my estate both real and personal not herein above disposed of to be equally divided between them share and share alike, 7. I order and direct my executrix hereinafter named to cause my name to be properly lettered on my tombstone in the Truxton Cemetery and markers set up to correspond with other stones on the lot. And Lastly, Likewise I make constitue and appoint my niece Marion Barber to be my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all, forever Wills by me made. In Witnesses whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 6th day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty five. Francis J. Aldrich {L.S.} The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by Francis J. Aldrich the testator therein named, in the presence of us and each of us & he at the time of making such subscription, acknowledged that he executed the same, and declared the said instrument so subscribed by him to be his last Will and Testament.
