All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ny/nyfiles.htm Submitted Date: February 7, 2005 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nyfiles/ File size: 3.7 Kb ************************************************ Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York Written: June 15 1850 Recorded: July 3 1850 This indenture made the 15th day of June in the year 1850 between James Mills and Elisabeth his wife of the Town of Poughkeepsie county of Dutchess and state of New York and Robert Gibson of the same town county and state of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $340 lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part of on or before the ensealing and delivery the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents, doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever. That certain lot of land lying on the west side of Washington Street in Poughkeepsie. Beginning at the south East corner sold to Michael Hughes 50 ft. from the corner of Washington and Mansion Streets. Thence to a southerly course on the west side of Washington Street 34 ft. to a stake. Thence a westerly course 118 ft. to a stake on the east side line of William Schwans Lot 29 ft. from the southwest corner of Michael Hughes lot. Thence a northerly course on the east side line of William Schwans Lot 29 ft. to a stake at said southwest corner of said Hughes lot. Thence and easterly course on the south side line lot to a stake at 106 ft. 6 in. on the west line of Washington Street to the place of beginning be the same more or less. With all and singular the tenements, hereditaments, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, reuts?, issues and profits as thereof. And also all the estate right tithe and interest, dower right, property, possession of, claim and demand whatsoever as well as in law as in equity of the said party of the first part of or to the above described premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances. To have and to hold all and singular the above mentioned and described premises appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Mills for himself his heirs the said premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part of his heirs and assigns his heirs and against all and every person and persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend. In witness whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and year above written. James Mills SS. Elisabeth Mills SS. Delivered in the presence of S.B. Dutton. Dutchess County SS on the second today of July 1850 as a came James Mills and Elisabeth his wife to me known to be the individuals described in and who executed the within conveyance and acknowledged that they executed the same. And the said Elisabeth Mills on a private examination apart from her husband acknowledged that she executed the within instrument freely and without any fear or compulsion of her husband. S.B.
