Cary Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York Written: April 1 1842 Recorded: February 3 1845 This indenture made the first day of April in the Year of our Lord 1842 between James R. Cary of the village of Poughkeepsie assignee of George P. Oakley as will appear by an assignment from the latter and his wife to the former which is recorded August 14th A.D.1841 in book 71 of deeds from pages 289 to 298 both inclusive of the first part and Robert Gibson of the same place of the second part. With both of that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $68 lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged as remised, released, and quit claimed and by these presents does remise release and quit as claim unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever all that lot of land situate on the east side of that part of Mansion Street called Long Road in the village of Poughkeepsie and which is more fully described as follows viz. Lot #49 beginning at the south west corner of said lot #49 which corner is 237 ft. from the North line of Main Street and running thence northerly along the East line of Mansion Street 53 ft. thence at right angle with the last mentioned line easterly 147 ft. thence southerly at right angles with last mentioned line 50 ft. thence at right angles with the at the last mentioned line 147 to the place of beginning. All of which will appear on a map of a Long Road made by Henry Winfield, civil engineer October 1835. Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders and, rents, issue and property thereof and also all estate right tithe interest, property possession claim and demand whatsoever as well in the law and in equity of the said party of the first part of in or to the above described premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances. To have and to hold all and singular the mentioned and described premises together with all appurtenances unto the said party of of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said party of of the first part as he set his hand and sealed the day and year first above written. Sealed and delivered in the presence of Le Grand Dodge. James R Cary SS. Dutchess County on the first day of April A.D. 1842 came on the within named James R. Cary to me known to be the individuals described and who executed the within deed and who acknowledged that he executed the same for the use and a purpose therein mentioned.
