All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ny/nyfiles.htm Submitted Date: February 7, 2005 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nyfiles/ File size: 3.2 Kb ************************************************ Hyde Park, Dutchess County, NY Written: May 1 1868 Recorded: May 5 1868 This indenture made the first day of May and a year of our Lord 1868 between Caroline Tompkins of the town of Hyde Park county of Dutchess and state of New York of the first part and Alexander Gibson of the town of Hyde Park aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of $1 to me in hand paid by the said party of second part the receipt whereof is hereby and confessed and acknowledged hath bargained, sold, remised and quit claimed unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever all the right title interest dower and right of dower of and to the following described real estate to wit: all of those to certain lots, pieces or parcels of land situate in the town of Hyde Park Dutchess County New York which in and by a deed of thereof from Abraham W. Tompkins to Alexander Gibson dated May 1st 1867 are bounded and described generally as follows viz on the north by lands by and now owned and occupied by Abraham Conklin on the the east by the highway leading south along said premises to the Salt Point turnpike on the south by land as now owned by by George Schryer and on the west by the stone wall separating said to lots from other lands of said party of the first part lying west of and adjoining said to lot thereby conveyed containing about 25 acres of land be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, reuts issues and profit and all the estate right tithe interest claims demands whatsoever of the said party of the first part either in law or in equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the said hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the said premises as to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. Dutchess County SS On the of this first day of May in the year 1866 appeared Caroline Tompkins wife of Abram V.W. Tompkins to me personally known to be the same person described in and who executed the foregoing instrument who severally acknowledged that they executed the same: The said Caroline on a separate examination by me from her said husband acknowledged that she executed the same freely and without any fear or compulsion of her said husband.
