WILL OF AHASUERUS ELLSWORTH

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN this 2nd day of September in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety six, I Ahasuerus Ellsworth of the town of
Clinton in the County of Dutchess and State of New York being somewhat weak in
body but of sound mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God for the same
and calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertain time thereof do
make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form
following.  

First and principally I reccomend my precious and immortal soul into the hands
of Almighty God who gave it to my hoping for pardon and remission of sin
through the merrits of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer and my body 
I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my wife and
Executors herein after named and as to such wordly estate wherewith it hath
pleased Gods  bless me with I give desire and dispose of in manner and form
following 

"Imprimis" I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be well and
truely paid and not withstanding at a convenient time after my decease.

Item:  I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sara E. Ellsworth the interest
arising from my estate yearly both real and personal for the maintenance as
long as she lives and after her decease I give and bequeath onto Ahasuerus
Ellsworth Peters, son of Hewlit Peters one hundred pounds to him, his heirs
and assigns forever.  

Item:  I give and bequeath all the residue and remainder of my estate both
real and personal to my sisters son Doctor George Gibbappy and to his heirs
and assigns forever.    

And lastlee I do hereby nominate constitute and append Abel Peters, Jesse
Oakley and Hewlitt Peters Executors of my last will and testament by hereby
undoing all other wills and testaments by me at this time heretofore made
declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have herinto set my hand and seals this day and year
first above within.  Signed, sealed and declared by the said Ahasuerus
Ellsworth by and for his last will and testament in the presence of  us who
are now present at the signing and sealing thereof

DUTCHESS COUNTY SS:  Be it remembered that on the 30th day of May one thousand
eight hundred and five personally appeared before one James Tallmadge Jr.
Surrogate of the said county, Jacob Smith of the town of Clinton in the said
County of Dutchess who on his oath declared that he did see Ahasuerus
Ellsworth sign and seal the annexed within instrument porporting to be the
will of the said Ahasuerus Ellsworth bearing date the 2nd day of September one
thousand seven hundred and Ninety five and heard him publish and declare the
same of and for his last will and testament - That at the time thereof he the
said Aharuerus Ellsworth was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of
the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that he this deponent
subscribed the said will as a witness thereis in the testators presence.

DUTCHESS COUNTY SS:  Be it also remembered that on the 30th day of May one
thousand eight hundred and five Hewlett Peters of the town of Clinton one of
the Executors of the ammend written will of Ahasuerus Ellsworth likewise
appeared before me the said James Tallmadge Jr. and was duly sworn to the true
execution and performance of said will by his taking the oath of an executor
as by law appt'ed.
