He died in 1779. With his wife Meribah Deuel, he had at least three children: Lydia, Meribah and Aaron, Jr. Aaron, Jr. served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. **Please note that in a few places, the faded copy and old-fashioned handwriting made it difficult to determine the exact text of these papers, but I gave it my best guess. Spelling and grammar were transcribed exactly as they appeared in the original document. ___________________________________ I, Aaron Haight, of the Nine Partners Charlotte precinct in Dutchess County and Province of New York, yeoman, being at this time in a good Degree of health of body and of a sound disposing mind & memory & calling to mind the mortality of my Body Do mak and ordain this to be my last will & Testament in manner & form as followeth. Imprimis That after my Dicease my Body Interred in a Decent Christian like manner at the Discression of my Executors, here in after named and in some convenient time after my Decease all my debts due unto me be called in by my Executors and all my just debts paid and fully satisfied. Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Meribah who is now in a Discomposed condition of mind and circumstances that is if she shall come to her right Reason the northeast part of my farm whereon I now Dwell During her natural life and if she should marry and have Lawful Issue thereafter her to her heirs and their heirs and assigns forever being Bounded as followeth, beginning at the four corners near where Joseph Walley now Dwells from thence northerly as the Highway runs to John Tripp land from thence Easterly in said John Tripp Line to Isaac Thorn land thence southerly in said Isaac Thorn line to the meeting lot from thence as the meeting lot Runs to the Highway from thence westerly as the highway runs to the first mentioned corner together with the Houses profits & priviledges thereon & in any way appertaining, and as the House now standing on the premises is not paid for, I order it to be paid for for my said Daughter by my Executors out of my movable Estate, furthermore if it shall so be that my Daughter Meribah shall remain in her present Discomposed condition then my mind and will is that my Executors provide for her a suitable convenient and necessary maintenance and support out of my Estate during her natural life and that lands in this will given to her shall return at her death to my son Aaron to him, his heirs & assigns forever with the appurtenances thereof. Item I give unto Thomas May who has been heretofore my servant and since an honest and faithful labourer in my business as followeth, the use and occupation of the House & yard where he now liveth and to contain three acres of Land with a priviledge to get fencing timber on my farm to keep in repair the fence round the said three acres of land also the priviledge of cuting & providing for his family fire wood on my farm and the use of a Team to Draw said wood to his house also the priviledge to sow one acre of land with wheat and one acre of land to plant with Indian corn yearly & every year to be where my or whoever posseses the premises shall plant and sow as also an half acres of suitable land ground to sow with if cases seed on my farm, also I give him one cow & priviledge of cutting hay on my farm to keep a cow and pasture for one cow yearly as all other priviledges during his natural life & not to be conveyed by him to others. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Joshua Haight son John twenty Pounds current Lawful money of New York for the natural afection I have unto him to be paid to him within one year after my decease also I order that my Executors pay the remaining part of that Bond wherein I am bound with my brother Joshua to the Estate of James Mott of Mamaraneck deceased with the Interest due thereon. Item I give & bequeath unto my son Aaron Haight after funeral charges paid and all debts and Legacies deducted as in this will heretofore devised, all the remaining part of my Farm and lands wheresoever and all my movable Estate (Except Six pounds New York currency which I order him to the mothly meeting of Friends of the Nine Partners as a free gift from me and for the use of the said meeting to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Furthermore I constitute and appoint my aforesaid son Aaron Haight and my truly well beloved friends John Macomber and Tripp Mosher all of the aforesaid Nine Partners to be the sole Executors of this my last will and testament, making void & null all other former wills and testaments heretofore made by me, Ratifying, allowing and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twentieth Day of the seventh month in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine.
