Will of John Ketteman of Rhinebach, Dutchess County, New York, 1795. Contributed by Virginia Perry, June 1998. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In The Name Of God Amen, this twenty first day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety five I John Ketteman of Rhinebach town, Dutches County, and state of New York, Physician being advanced in years but healthy and well and of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God yet calling unto mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of the almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting that the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God-----As touching my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in my life. I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form; First I will that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be paid in proper time. Secondly I will that my wife Anna Ketteman shall remain in my dwelling house wherein I now dwell during her natural life and to have her living and substances out in the best way and manner out of my real and personal estate during her life and to be buried in a decent Christian burial. Thirdly, I will that my daughter Anna Timberman (Limberman) shall have her living and maintance out of my estate during her natural life she not sell nor make waste of my estate whatsoever. Fouthly I will that all the children begotten from the body of my daughter Anna shall have their manintance out of my estate as far as my personal estate will admit and the real estate shall not be sold for their maintance my desire is that they be brought up in the true Lutheran religion. Fiftly I give all my real estate to my daughter Anna's children that she now or yet may have hereafter to be divided share and share alike as soon as they are of age after my daughters death but if it should happen that all my daughters children should die without heirs then and in such case all my real and personal estate ---- - and legacy unto my brother Andrew Ketteman and to his heirs for ever if it should happen that my daughter Anna should die before her children are all of age then my desire is that her children should be first out and have their maintance as aforesaid. I make and ordain Constitute and appoint my daughter Anna Timberman(Limberman), my friend William Seimon and John Schultz executoers of this my last will and testament.
