I, Ezra Thompson of the town of Stanford County of Dutchess and State of New 
York, being of sound disposing mind (Blessed be Almighty God for the same) do 
make and publish this my last will and testament, this twenty seventh day of 
August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen, in
manner and form following (that is to say)

First, I give to my son Joseph two hundred and fifty dollars, to my son Ezra
two hundred and fifty, to my grandDaughter Ann Douglass fifty dollars, to my
grandson Jacob Sutherland fifty dollars - and I do hereby make and order my
three sons Ezra Thompson, Smith Thompson and Egbert Thompson or the survivors
or survivor of them Executors or Executor of this my last will and testament
in trust for the intent and purposes in this my will contained, and in order
to inable them so to do I do hereby give them or the survivors or survivor of
them full power to sell all my estate both real and personal, the one half of
the said legacies to be paid in one year after my decease, and the other in
two years and after paying my just debts and the above legacies, the remainder
of my property to be equally divided (that is to say) I give to my son Joseph
one equal share to my son Ezra one equal share to my son Smith one equal
share, to my daughter Rachel one equal share to my daughter Sally one equal
share, to my son Egbert one equal share, to my daughter Betsey one equal share
and to my son Nathan one equal share, or to there heirs--

Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by the above named Ezra Thompson to be
his last will and testament in the presents of us who have hereunto subscribed
our names as witnesses in the presents of the testator--

Peter Fish
Leonard Thompson

And Whereas my son Nathan had a certain bond or obligation against John Ganoe
of the town of Cincinnati in the State of Kentucky of three hundred dollars,
or thereabouts, dated I believe in June one thousand eight hundred and two -- 
therefore it is will that if he has received the amount of the above
obligation or any part thereof, that he accounts with my Executors for the
same, and that they dispose of it as I have directed my other property to be
disposed of -- 

Given under my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of August one thousand
Eight hundred and sixteen.
