I Elias Walbridge of the town of Stanford, Dutchess County and State of New York being in health of body and of sound and perfect mind and memory, knowing that is appointed to all once to die do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say. First. I order and direct all my just debts and personal charges to paid by my here after named Executors. I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Harriet now wife of David Hoag Jr. the sum of eight hundred dollars. I give to my Grandson Charles Turner the sum of one thousand dollars. I give to my Grandson William Turner the like sum of one thousand dollars. I give to my Granddaughter Hannah Turner the like sum of one thousand dollars. I give to my Grandson Elias Turner the like sum of one thousand dollars. The above named are the children of my Daughter Sarah deceased. The following bequests are to the children of Silas Graham and Charlotte Graham his wife of the town of Hamilton in the county of Madison and State of New York (to wit). I give to Asa Graham the sum of five hundred dollars, I give to Charlotte Graham the like sum of five hundred dollars. I give to Lucy Graham the like sum of five hundred dollars. I give to Zenus Graham the like sum of five hundred dollars. I give to Erastus Graham the like sum of five hundred dollars. I give to Jotham Graham the like sum of five hundred dollars. I further order and direct that my said here and after named Executors or the survivors or survivor of them sell and dispose of all my estate both real and personal as soon as may be conveniently after may decease and out of the proceeds thereof to pay the above bequests as soon as they shall severally arrive to the age of twenty one years, with the income which may arise there on, if any, and whatever shall remain of my estate after paying the above charges and legacies, I give and bequeath equally to my said five grandchildren (to wit) Harriet, Charles, William, Hannah and Elias, but in case times shall after and my Estate when sold shall not amount not the sum above bequests in as such case I direct that an equal deduction be made upon the whole so that each shall receive in an equal proportion to the above bequests. Whereas I have a demand against David Sherwood of the State of Massachusetts, for a considerable amount of money which of right consider belongs to the children which he had by my niece Abigail Cross his former wife, if collected of him, I give equally to the surviving child or children of said Abigail and lastly I do hereby ordain and institute and appoint John Gurney, Gilbert Thorn and my said Grandson Charles Turner all of town of Stanford Executors of this my last will and testament. In writing whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen. Elias Walbridge {S.S.} Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Elias Walbridge to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have been here unto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator. Be it remembered that on the twenty-eight day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty two personally appeared before me E Nye Surrogate of the said County Thomas Woods who on his affirmation declares that he did see Elias Walbridge sign and seal the annexed written instrument purporting to be the will of the said Elias Walbridge and dated the tenth day of August 1819. and bear lien, publish and declare the same as and for his Last will and testament that at the time stated he the said Elias Walbridge was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the Deposed and that in the deposing of Richard Marriet and Jesse Thompson severally as witnesses thereto in the Testators presence. E Nye Surrogate The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God. {S.S.} Free and independent to all those present shall come or may concern send greeting. Know Ye that at Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County on the twenty eight day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two before E Nye, Esquire, Surrogate Dutchess County the Last will and Testament of Elias Walbridge deceased (a copy already in hereto annexed) have heard and I know approve and allow of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived, and at the time of his death, goods, chattel or credits with in this State by means where of the proving and registering the said will and that granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and allowing any final discharging the amount thereof doth belong unto us the administrations of all and singular good chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Gilbert Thorn and Charles Turner, two of the Executors in the said will named they being first and duly sworn and affirmed well and faithfully to administer the same and to make exlitit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattel and credits and also to render any just and true account thereof thereunto required.. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office or our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. E Nye Esquire, Surrogate of the said county at Poughkeepsie the twenty eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand and twenty two and of our Independence the forty sixth. Be it remembered that on the 28th day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty two Gilbert Thorn and Charles Turner two of the Executors of the annexed written will of Elias Walbridge likewise appeared before me the said E Nye and were duly sworn therein executors and performance of the said will by their ____ of in Execution as by law appointed E Nye Surrogate Dutchess County {SS}. Recording the preceding will of Elias Walbridge together with the memorandum of proof thereof the memorandum of the Surrogate and of the Executors together with the letter of Testamentary on the twenty eight day of February 1822 E Nye Surrogate Dutchess County {SS}. Delivered the original will of Elias Walbridge this 22 day of May 1822 to Gilbert Thorn
