First I commend my immortal soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent christian like manner. After my just debts & funeral Expenses are paid I give & bequeath the residue of all my Estate both real and personal to my Wife Catharine for and during her life the same to be under her sole control during her natural life; I give and bequeath unto William, David, Catharine, Philip, Nelson and Robert Lown, children of my daughter Rebecca and David D. Lown forty dollars to be by them equally divided and to be paid by my Executors Six months after my said Wifes Catharines decease this same in full of the share of my said daughter Rebecca whose undutiful conduct as well as that of her husband is hereby forgive - The rest and residue of my Estate real and personal after the decease of my Wife Catharine I give and bequeath unto my children and grandchildren hereinafter named the grandchildren to have the parents share or proportion and by them equally divided one part to my daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Aristides Tompkins, one part to John Post for the son of Catharine my daughter and John Post. If this the said John Post Jr. should die without having his share then to be divided in the same manner as I have divided my Estate by this Will & Testament. One part to Philip, Israel, Montgomery, Lucretia and Elizabeth Salpaugh, the children of my daughter Hannah Salpaugh & John Salpaugh to be equally divided between them. One part to Christina Hendricks the Wife of Peter Hendricks one part to Maria Hutton Wife of William Hutton in manner following for and during her natural life and after death to her Oldest child Robert Salpaugh by her first husband Jacob Salpaugh, to John William Jacob Edward & Catharine Eliza Hutton the children she had by her second husband William Hutton to be then equally divided between them; one part to Cornelia Turk the Wife of Solomon Turk; One part to Jacob Boice _______ during his natural life & the natural life of his present Wife Lana and after these deaths to their children to be by them equally divided I hereby appoint & nominate my said Wife Catharine Executor and my friends William Waldorf and William V. Bruner Executors of this my Last Will & Testament. I hereby authorize and empower my said Executors with the consent of my said Wife at any time after my decease to dispose of all my said Estate both real and personal in such manner as they shall deem proper and make distribution thereof in manner aforesaid Except where any of my said grandchildren are under age then to put such share [at in laid] for their use and unlike manner where I have given my children only life -estates their share to be put at interest for their use and after the decease of my said Wife I authorize then my surviving Executors or Executive to dispose of my Estate real and personal and make distribution thereof in manner aforesaid - In Testimony whereof I have to this my Last Will & Testament signed my name and affixed my seal and do publish it as my last Will & Testament revoking all others this twenty eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two. Benedict of Red Hook in the County of Dutchess being duly sworn & examined doth depose & say that the deponent was well acquainted with with Ferdinand Boice late of the Town of Red Hook in the County of Dutchess deceased that this deponent was present as a witness and did see the said Ferdinand Boice subscribe at the end thereof this instrument now produced & shown to the deponent purporting to be the Last Will & Testament of the said deceased bearing date the twenty eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two That the said Testator at the same time declared the instrument so subscribed by him to be his last Will & Testament That therefore the deponent George A. Shufeldt and John D. Lown [severally] subscribed their names at the end thereof as witnesses thereto at the request of the Testator in his presence that said Testator at the time of executing and publishing the said Last Will & Testament was of full age of sound mind & memory & not under any restraint.
