Chef celebrant was Sister Agnes Marie's nephew, Rev. John G. Strum. S. J. A., dinner followed in the school hall. Sister Agnes Marie comes from a family rich in religious vocations. Her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ullman, came to the U.S. from Germany in 1845. Although her great-grandmother was a staunch Protestant, her great-grandfather raised his three daughters Catholics. Each one of those daughters (one was Sister Agnes' grandmother) raised a family, and their children, in turn, began families of their own. Within the two generations, there are 24 priests, religious and Brothers. In addition to Sister Agnes Marie, living relatives who are religious include; Sister Noreen Sturm, O.S.F.; Sister Aquinas Schmitt, O.S.F.; Sister Margaret Hanzlian, O.S.F.; Sister Frances Teresa, R.S.M.; Sister Alberta Van Remmen, R.S.M.; and Sister Eileen Poorten, G.N.S.H. Numbered in the family are six priests and three brothers: Rev. John G. Strum, S. J. Rev. William Poorten, S. J.; Rev. John Meyer, O. M. I.; Rev. Gregory Eichenlaub, O. S. B.; Rev. Allen Meyer, O. S. B.; Rev. Bernard Roswach, O. S. B.; Brother John Walter, S. J.; Brother Vincent Hoerner, C. S. S. R.; and Brother Nelson Hoerner, C. S. S. R. Six Priests and three religious are deceased. NOTE: Franz Joseph Uhlmann & Fredericka Johanna Dorothea nee Rau are the parents of Maria Magdalene Uhlmann, ho married Johann Paul Schler (Schueler), son of Christian & Anna Marie Schler/Schueler, Buffalo, Erie, New York
