NO. 145 -September 27, 1897 NEW YORK STATE CANALS NOTICE TO THE CONTRACTORS - Office of the Superintendent of Public Works, Albany, N.Y., Thursday, September 16, 1897. Pursuant to the chapter 113, laws of 1897, sealed proposals will be received by the Superintendent of Public Works, at his office in Albany, N.Y. until noon Tuesday, September 28, 1897, at 12 o'clock noon of that day, for constructing a bridge over the Oswego canal at First and Oneida streets, in the village of FUlton, N.Y. Plans and specifications may be seen from the date of publication of this notice to the date of receipt of bids, at the office of the Superintendent of Public Works, Albany, N.Y., and at the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Public Works, Thomas Wheeler, Syracuse, M.Y., and at the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Public Works, R.G. Lay, Rochester, N.Y. Every proposal for said work must be accompanied by a draft or certified check upon some good banking institution in the city of New York or Albany, issued by a National or State bank in good credit within the State, payable at sight to the Superintendent of Public Works, for the amount expressed below, as required to be deposited with bid for the proposed work. The amount of deposit bid for the same will be 10 percent of the proposal and will be retained as part of the security until the completion of the work; the amount of labor bond required on execution of contract will be 35 percent of the proposal, the amount of bond for faithful performance of contract, on exectuion of contract will be 40 percent of the proposal. All proposals for the above work must be addressed to the Superintendent of Pubic Works, at Albany, N.Y., and must be endorsed on envelope: "Pre-Oswego canal at First and Oneida streets, in the village of Fuylton, N.Y.".
