Paulus' grocery, was held up by two highwaymen in a lonely part of the city shortly after 10 o'clock Saturday night. Mr. Emmiger was on his way to the store after delivering a load of groceries and when near the Roerts Road the two footpads sprang out from behind a fence, one of them grabbed the horse by the bridle, while the other jumped into the wagon and grasping Mr. Emmiger by the throat ordered him in a threatening manner to shell out all the cash in his possession, which amounted to but 75 cents. Mr. Emmiger was so badly frightened that he was unable to give the police a very accurate description of the highwaymen, but said their faces were concealed by heavy slouch hats. ______________
