NO 145 -September 27, 1897 CHURCH DEDICATED Handsome New St. Joseph's at Albion Was the Scene of a Very Impressive Ceremony (Special to the evening news) ALBION, Sept 27 - The dedication of the new St. Joseph's Church took place yesterday. The eloquent discourse was delivered by Rt. Rev. B.J. McQuaid of Rochester, after the solemn and impressive ceremony of dedication by Rt. Rev. James E. Quigley, Bishop of Buffalo. David Martin officiated as master of ceremonies; Rev. John Biden, rector of the St. Joseph's Cathedral, Bafflo was celebrant of the high mass, assisted by Rev. Father McGrath and Rev. Father Walters. There were a number of distinguised Catholics present, amount them Very.Rev.Thomas P. Broughan of Batavia; Very Rev. P. McHale, president of Niagara University; Rev. J.W. McNabb, Medina; Rev. L. Vanderpool, Le Roy; Rev. J.H. Leddy, Holley; Rev.E Purell, MIddleport; Rev. James Roche, Suspension Bridge, and those named as officiating. The music sung at the mass was elaborate and finely rendered. The ediface is built of sand stone and contains a great many beautiful memorial windows, notably a very large one to the memory of Re. John Castaldi, and the one opposite, given by the C.M.B.A. of Albion. The church has a fine organ and is complete in all its finishings. ________________
