Leon, Alice (Obireck)   
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Leon of
Thornhill, Ontario, who was born February 18, 1931 in Welland, Ontario. Alice
died peacefully at home on December 19, 2004. She was the loving, devoted wife
of the late Edward M. Leon of Thornhill, Ontario and will be truly missed by
their loving sons and daughters and their families; Charlene (Larry, Robert
and Andrew), Alice Elizabeth (Don), Diane (Anthony), Michael (Lea, Amber,
Justin and Christian), Edward (Lucy, Matthew, Alexander and Adriana), Timothy,
Shawn (Eileen, Emma, Ethan), Leah (Theodore and Sabrina), Darlene (Dave, David
Jr., William and Kristen), Carolyn (Joe, Jordan and Nicholas), Daniel (Angela,
Alysha, Nicole and Bianca), Darren (Andrea, Ashley and Kyle), Alice's beloved
sisters and brothers; James (deceased) and Rose Obireck (deceased), Julius and
Janey Obireck, Walter (deceased) and Molly Obireck (deceased), Rose and John
Lipic (deceased), Bernice and Adam Sczelecki, Jane and Don Rose, Betty and

her dear 85 nieces and nephews. Alice was a devoted mother of 13 children and
pillar of strength to her entire community. She was a warm, caring, kind and
generous person whose love of life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She
was a founding and active member of St. Luke's Choir for the past 40 years.
Alice was an artisan of ceramics and studied for many years under the tutelage
of Liz Lackner of Thornhill. Her ceramic pieces have been lovingly distributed
from coast to coast. She will be sadly missed by all. Visitation will be held
at the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 6191 Yonge Street (2 lights south of Steeles), on
Monday from 6-9 PM, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. Funeral mass Wednesday 10:30
