Clement Jr., Norman Parsons October 20, 2004, at the age of 84, died peacefully at his home in Montecito, California from complications following a heart attack. A third generation native of Buffalo, born on September 29, 1920, as the youngest of four brothers. As a youth, he lived with his family in an East Aurora residence built by his father and designed by his uncle, and he attended Park School and The Nichols School. Mr. Clement went on to graduate from The Hill School (1938), Yale University (1942) and Harvard Business School (1948). Durning World War II, he served as an officer in the United States Navy and skippered three minesweepers in the Pacific. He then worked as a partner in both the New York and Los Angeles offices of the international management consulting firm of Cresap, McCormick & Paget. He later served as an advisor to the Council for Opportunity in Graduate Management Education (COGME), a consortium of nine U.S. business schools underwritten by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation that was established to provide scholarships to encourage minority students to attend business school. Mr. Clement left COGME in 1972 to become a senior partner in the Los Angeles office of the international search firm of Korn/Ferry International, where he had a broad range of management responsibilities and handled important client relationships with both corporate and not-for-profit organizations. He was particularly respected for his role as a mentor to a number of Korn/Ferry partners and he represented the firm as an active leader in the Los Angeles Community until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Clement is survived by his children Leelee, Gus and Dan and his seven grandchildren; his wife Lisa predeceased him in 1994.
