Died April 15, 2005 in Little Flower Manor, Palliative Care Unit, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the widow of Milton L. Baier, chairman of the board of Merchant Mutual Insurance Group, who died in 1980. THe couple were married for 48 years. Born Madonna Keller, the only child of George J. Keller (Keller Bros. and Miller Printing) and Agnes Maloney Keller, in Buffalo, NY. She attended South Park High School and graduated Cum Laude from D'Youville College, Buffalo, NY, in 1929. She was president of her senior class. She went on to teach Latin and French for several years. Madonna was a past president of the D'Youville Alumni Association and a former member of St. Mary's of the Lake Country Club, Wanakah Country Club, the Buffalo Club, COuntry Club of Buffalo and Twentieth Century Club. She lived in Palm Beach, FL from 1978 to 1991, when she moved to Blakeslee, PA with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter Kathie Baier of Blakeslee, PA, a niece, Eleanor Baier Kennedy (Phillip) of Warnersville, PA and cousins, Marianna Madden, Catherine Amato and Ronald Amato.
