Becht, Richard J.   
Of Kettering, OH, passed away February 11, 2005. He was born in Buffalo, NY in 
1921 and resided in the Dayton area for over 50 years. He was preceded in 
death by his father, Leonard and his mother, Madeline (Beck) Becht; brothers, 
Robert and Paul; survived by his loving wife, Ruth and five children, Jeffrey 
(Marilyn) of Centerville, OH, Thomas (Mary) of Loveland, OH, Robert of 
Columbia, SC, Bonnie (Dan) Horn of Cincinnati, OH and Alyson (Scott) Short of 
Sycamore, IL; he is also survived by seven grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren. He served in World War II as a First Lieutenant Naval 
Aviator, then as a Fighter Director in the Pacific where he received a Purple 
Heart. He earned a B.S. Degree from The University of Michigan in Engineering. 
He retired as Vice President of Voelker Controls Co. in Centerville, OH. Since 
his retirement, he has spent countless hours of public service for numerous 
organizations in the City of Kettering and St. Charles Parish where he was a 
member for 40 years. A Prayer Service will be held 9:30 AM Monday, February 
14, 2005 at the MEYER-BOEHMER & FEUCHT FUNERAL HOME, 1733 Brown St., Dayton, 
OH followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo 
Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, OH. Burial will follow in 
Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday, February 13, 2005 from

Kenefick, Michael   
Age 69 of Seattle, WA, February 7, 2005 in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born 
February 28, 1935 in Buffalo, NY, son of Theodore Germain Kenefick and Mary 
Goodyear Kenefick. He attended Nichols School in Buffalo and graduated from 
the Brooks School in North Andover, MA (class of 1953) and Yale University in 
New Haven, CT (class of 1957). After training in Newport, RI, Mr. Kenefick 
served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 through 1961. He was a senior executive with 
Marine Midland Bank in Buffalo and later Laird Norton Trust Company in 
Seattle. An avid golfer and fisherman, Mr. Kenefick enjoyed winters in Palm 
Desert, CA and his annual fly fishing trip to Silver Tip Ranch in Montana. He 
maintained memberships in the Pack Club and the Saturn Club in Buffalo where 
he served as dean in 1977. Mr. Kenefick was also a member of the Seattle Golf 
Club and a charter member of the Plantation in Palm Desert. Mr. Kenefick is 
survived by his daughter Mary K. Kopp of Los Angeles; son Andrew M. of 
Seattle; James G. of Los Angeles; Theodore G. of Seattle; their mother Anne J. 
Kenefick of Seattle; sister Sheila K. Bertozzi of Palm Desert and six 
grandchildren Leslie Kenefick, Audrey Kenefick, Connor Kenefick, Aidan 
Kenefick, Emily Kopp and Sara Kenefick. His sister Kathleen K. Cheney died on 
December 2, 2004. A Memorial Service will be held at the Seattle Golf Club on

the Southern Tier of New York. He was a past Master Mason of Lodge 766 in 1962 
in Buffalo, N.Y., former chairman of the United Way in Olean, N.Y., an active 
member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Lions Club. He was a 
veteran of the U.S. Navy, aboard the Escort Carrier USS Shamrock Bay during WW 
II, Atlantic and Pacific Campaigns and also served during the Korean War. Dear 
father of Dean (Teresa) Lanternier of Plattsburg, N.Y., Gregg (Tracie) 
Lanternier of Hampstead, N.H. and Janis Lanternier of Knoxville, TN.; 
grandfather of Michele (David) Jeffery, Samuel Lanternier and Daniel
