Ruth had a long and wonderful life, enjoying Christmas dinner this year with her children and grandchildren. A few days later, her wish to pass on quickly and peacefully was fulfilled. ruth was born in Buffalo in 1909, one of eight children of Emily (Westphal) and John Myers. She graduated from Kenmore High School. She married the loved of her life, Astley ('Pat'/'Short') Francis Morrell in 1942. Although Pat died in 1958, she kept him alive in the heasts and minds of her two young children, Douglas and Marsha. Ruth moved to Syracuse when Pat's work transferred him there. She live most of her life there. In 1996, Ruth moved to Vermont, where Ruth was lovingly cared for by her son Doug and his wife Marcia prior to moving to nearby Brownway Residence. She is survived by her son and his wife, Douglas and Marcia Morrell of Richmond, her daughter and her husband, Marsha Morrell and Bob Gilhooly of Jericho, VT and seven grandchildren, Cathy, Sherri, Sean, Colleen, Meghan, Jeff and Brian. All of her siblings, Charlotte, John, Harvey, Irving, Evelyn, Sidney and Arthur predeceased her.
