Glasser, Gerard "Jerry"   
Age 72, a 40 year resident of Walnut Creek, CA, died Monday, January 10, 2005
of complications from heart failure. He was born September 30, 1932, in
Buffalo, NY, the son of Gerard and Frances Glasser. He attended schools in
Buffalo, graduating from Canisius High School in 1950, and was a member of the
West Side Rowing Club. He graduated from Syracuse University and later earned
an MBA from Golden Gate University. In the late 1950s, he served as a first
lieutenant in the US Navy, aboard the USS Forrestal in the South Pacific. He
worked in the pulp and paper industry for 36 years, where he was a plant
manager and outstanding salesman. He retired from Georgia Pacific in 1992 when
he fell ill and received a heart transplant at Stanford Medical Center.
Survivors include his mother Frances Gohr of Lancaster, NY; and his sons Chris
Glasser of Walnut Creek, CA, Grady Glasser and his wife Jennifer of Richmond,
CA, and Eric Glasser of Atlanta, GA. A private inurnment is planned and
friends are invited to attend a memorial liturgy 3 PM on Wednesday, January
26, 2005 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Walnut

also survived by 10 grandchildren and was the brother of the late Janet Stein

Thrush, Allan R.   
Age 89, died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at his son's home in Perrysburg, NY.
He was born March 2, 1915 in Konnarock, VA, the son of the late Arthur R. and
Martha C. (Crate) Thrush. He was a steel worker for 20 years with Bethlehem
Steel in Lackawanna, retiring in 1978. He is survived by children, Catherine
M. Bradley of Tempe, AZ, Wendell A. Thrush of Perrysburg, NY, Michelle M.
Thrush of Ashburn, VA, James W. Thrush of Phoenix, AZ, Tina T. Barbic of
Ramona, CA and Carol A. Thrush of North Collins, NY; also survived by seven
grandchildren; preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Lavelle Thrush and nine
brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2005
at 11:00 AM at the Gowanda Free Methodist Church. The Rev. David Kelley,
Pastor will be officiating. Burial will be in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in
Mesa, AZ. Visitation will be held at HILLS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 255 Aldrich St.,
