Gene was born on May 17, 1914 in Floersheim, Germany and moved to the Buffalo area in 1938, where she lived until moving to Seattle in 1988. Gene worked at Denton, Cottier & Daniels before marrying her late husband, George, in 1943. Later she worked for several years at Kleinhans and at Jenss at the Boulevard Mall, where she made many friends among customers and co-workers. Gene is survived by her children, Kent Korber of Alligerville, NY, Marlis Korber of Seattle, Mark Korber of Glastonbury, CT, his wife Carolyn and their children, John, Eric and Madeline, and by her nephew, Leo Noerdlinger of Cheektowaga. Gene chose to be cremated.
