Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna. Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Alvarez was a senior companion at West Seneca Developmental Center for fifteen years. She lived in God's Word in sharing and helping others. Active in her Church, she was a eucharistic minister, a member of the choir and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a sponsor of children in need and a translator for refugees and helped to place them. She was active in the Mexican Club, where her husband was one of the founders.
