Born November 24, 1929 in Buffalo, NY he was the only child of the late Emil and Marie Regan Achard. He was the husband of the late Jean W. Achard who died March 3, 1997. Don served his country in the US Army during the Korena War. Don and Jean lived in Elma, NY for 37 years. He was past member of the Elma Volunteer Fire Co. He retired as Operations Manager from ABF Freight Systems, Inc. in Buffalo, NY in 1993 and he and Jean moved to Sun City Center, FL. He was a past member of the Sun City Center Security Patrol. After Jeans's death he moved to Little Manatee Springs in Wimauma, FL. He is survived by his two children Gina (Tim) Downey of Ballston Lake, NY and Richard of Ohio (Jill of Wales Center, NY). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Brian, Jason, and Megan Downey, Scott and Justin Achard. A private graveside service will be held at the Elma Cemetery at a later date. Vance, Norman David Of Collins, NY, died March 24, 2005 at age 50 of mesothelioma; beloved son of Norman A. and Jessie (Reid) Vance; cherished companion of Karen Kenngott, all of Collins; brother of William, Daniel (Gina) Vance, Amy (Kim Lewis) Vance, all of Collins, Kathy (Elwood) Mohawk of Gowanda and William (Peggy) Young of Hamburg; also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda from where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM.
