He was born in Buffalo, New York, December 18, 1923 the son of the late Sigmund and Frances (Gajewski) Breister. He was predeceased by his sisters Delores Przybylski and Mary Chludzinski. While Sig was a resident of Buffalo for over 35 years, Connecticut was his home for the last 45. He lived in Hamden for over 35 years while working as a Research Chemist for Olin Corporation. Sig enjoyed the last 9 years of retirement living in Killingworth where he was an active member of the Killingworth Congregational Church. He has a passion for photography as well as magic, being a longtime member of The Brotherhood of Magicians. A loving husband and father, Sig leaves behind his cherished wife Marilyn (DeMarco) Breister; a loving daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Russell Rackliffe of Essex; a beloved grandson Benjamin Rackliffe with whom 'Poppy' enjoyed an extremely special relationship for 13 years. Sig will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him, including nices and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends both old and new.
