Of Lackawanna, NY, February 16,2000, beloved husband of the late Virginia A. (Davis); father of James N., Virginia A. (Steven) Thompsen, Colleen M. (Richard) Biryla, and Loretta C. (George) Texter; grandfather of Sean, Amy, Kara (Hodge), and Brian Thompsen; Erin, Ashley, and Samantha Texter; and Megan and Gregory Biryla; and Connor Eddy; Great-grandfather of Maxwell Thompsen Hodge; Brother of the late Margaret Morseon and Katherine Russel; Also survived by nieces and nephews. James N. Eddy, 77, a longtime employee of Republic Steel, died Wednesday, February 16,2000, at his home in Lackawanna. Eddy was born in Buffalo and graduated from South Park High School. He worked for Republic Steel from 1946 until he retired in 1984. He married the former Virginia Davis in 1948. She died in 1996. He was a member of the Steelworkers of America Retirees and the South Park High School Alumni Association. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Hamburg Golf Club. He enjoyed travelling immensely. Survivors include a son, James N. of Hamburg; three daughters, Virginia Thompsen of Houston, Colleen Biryla of Hamburg, and Loretta Texter of Blasdell; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandso . A mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Our Lady of Victory, Lackawanna. Prayers preceding the Mass were in F.E. Brown Sons Funeral Home, in Orchard Park. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
