First: I give and desire as my real estate consisting of eleven acres of land to my two sons David Crouse and William Crouse to be divided as follows ... David is to have the East half of said eleven acres and William is to have the West half subject to the obligations and legacies herein after mentioned and provided. Second: I give and bequeath unto my husband Benjamin Crouse the use of my house and barn standing on said eleven acre lot during his natural life and also the use of a garden to the east of said house and the said Benjamin is to have his choice of one of my three cows now on the premises. And my son David is to have one of the remaining two cows. And my son William the other cow. Thirdly: I give and bequeath unto Martha Celestia Steenburgh wife of Aaron Steenburgh twenty five dollars and to Sarah Hays wife of Norman Hays the sum of twenty five dollars and to Emily Gray wife of Aaron Gray thirty dollars and my son Frank Crouse thirty dollars. And I give and bequeath unto the said Sarah Hays (in addition to the above sum) my alpaca black dress to be given to her immediately after my decease and the remainder of my household furniture is to be left at the house for the benefit of my husband and after his death whatever is left to be equally divided amongst my children. Fourthly: I further will and declare that David Crouse and William Crouse pay all my just and honest debts and legacies and bequests. And all my funeral charges the said bequest and legacies to be paid by said David and William Crouse on or before one year from the date of my decease. Lastly: I constitute and appoint my sons David and William Crouse Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this third day of May 1875.
