York Genesse County, the seventeenth day of June 1836 personally appeared Benjamin Potts aged seventy five years, resident of Bergen, sworn he was in the Revolutionary War as follows: Three years service in Capt. W. Judd's Company and Col. Samuel Wylly's Regiment of the Connecticut Line was discharged first of February 1781 at Luzenne County, PA - that his declaration was dated the 22 day of April 1818 and his certificate is numbered 9949 Real Estate I have none I am in possession of thirty five acres of land situate in the Town of Bergen in P. County which I hold by an article of agreement for the purchase thereof from the agent of the State of Connecticut on which there is eight acres improved and a small log house one half of the whole belongs to Munson Hobs who married my daughter & with whom I live. There is due to the State of Connecticut one hundred thirty one dollars for said lot Personal property 1 yoke of small stags 1 cow 1 sheep 1 ox yoke & 1 poor broken chains 1 set of old plow-irons worn out worth the price of old iron mill weigh about 18 lb 1 iron shovel old & poor [line cut off] 1 lythe & backling 1 small flax hatchet 1 2d size pot 1 joiners -- & square 1 frying pan 1 flat iron 1 iron trammult 1 candlestick 1 old pan iron shovel & tongs 1 trunk common size 1 gallon runlet 3 cups & saucers common earthin 3 pewter plates 1 old pewter platter 1 earthen bowl 2 pewter basins 1 pint bottle Cash on hand being a part of my pension money $20.87 1/2 I have not been able to labor for nearly 3 years pass I live with my son in law and am indebted to him for support wholly (except the little property above mentioned) and that his bedding & wearing apparrel do not exceed fifty dollars in value Sworn & subscribed the 17th } Benjamin (his x mark) Potts of June 1820 Before me } Naming Clerk of Gen Com/pleas in open Court
