He came to America with his father when a child, thirty-five years ago. He was born June 8, 1854. He learned the knitting trade in Utica, and came here when the Little Falls mills were being built, working on them from the foundation up, and then in them ever since. In 1886 he was appointed superintendent. Mr. Bailey is highly popular with all classes, and has held the office of alderman. He is a prominent member of the Elks, and of the Masonic Fraternity.
