He began the business in 1844, and located in Little Falls in 1850. His business life has been a pronounced success. He owns the large brick block on the corner of Mary and Main streets, where his factory is located, as well as a handsome residence on Mary streeet, and other valuable property. Mr. Benedict takes an intelligent interest in public affairs, and has served on the school board twelve years successively, and nine years on the village board. Mr. Benedict began the manufacture of carriages twenty- five years before the introduction of machine-made vehicles, and has shipped his carriages all over the Union and into Europe.
