He has been prominently identified with leading hotels for many years, and is the present proprietor of the Briggs House, Ilion. He is and has been United States Marshal for many years. He has been deputy sheriff and postmaster at Sprakers, N.Y., and filled other responsible positions. Mr. Briggs married Urella Krouse, and by her had a son, Fernando C., and a daughter, now Mrs. J. H. Gammond. Mr. Briggs married second in 1886 Agnes C. Bevens.
