His family gave its name to this vicinity (Brockett's Bridge). His father was postmaster for twenty-four years, and his brother for twenty years, while Mr. Brockett has served as deputy postmaster for some time. He married Ruth A. Leek. They have no children. Mr. Brockett now lives in Dolgeville (formerly Brockett's Bridge), retired from active business, having disposed of his farm. He has held local public offices, and has always been one of the foremost and most public-spirited citizens of the locality wherein his family have been popular and important members of the community since the Revolution.
