His family have been prominent here since the War of the Revolution. Calvin was educated in the common schools, and followed farming until he sold his farm to Alfred Dolge. He married Ione Kible and they have three daughters. Mr. Brockett is a member of the board of education, and is identified with various social and benevolent institutions, the Masonic brotherhood, etc. He is now engaged in the hard and soft wood traffic, and is erecting a saw-mill for the convenience of his trade.
