He received a good education in the Little Falls school and academy, and eventually succeeded his father in the hotel, which had been conducted at the corner of Ward and Loomis streets by the elder Cavanaugh for many years. Frank Cavanaugh is a staunch Democrat in politics and identified with the local social and benevolent institutions of the town, such as the Elks, Red Men, Erina Chemical Engine Co.
