He received a good education in the schools of that city, after which he learned the trade of carriage trimmer. He came to this village, and engaged with Mr. Burdick, carriage-maker, with whom he remained four years. He then accepted a position as bar-tended at the Beattie House, which he filled until he resigned to establish his elegant saloon on Mail Street, Little Falls, in August, 1892. Mr. Conway is very popular in this town, being a fine ball player, and is identified with the Red Men, Erina Chemical Engine Co., Celtic Lyceum, etc. He married Miss Kate McGurty.
