His grandfather was Jacob, also, who married Elizabeth Frank. Jacob, Jr., was born where Adam now lives Oct. 14, 1787, and died June 14, 1874. He was a leading and influential man in his day. His wife died Dec. 16, 1878, leaving eight out of her nine children. Adam J. has always lived on the farm where he was born. With three others he started a cheese factory in 1871. He is a Republican, and has served as justice of the peace, and one term as associate justice. He is a Mason. He married May 5, 1874, Martha, daughter of Abram and Lana (Thumb) Veeder, and they have two children: Alma F., and Ora B.F. His wife and daughters are members of the Reformed Church.
