George Dunckel, his great-grandfather, came from Germany and settled in Montgomery county early in the 17th century. George G. Dunckel, son of George Dunckel, and grandfather of Peter J., was a Revolutionary soldier and was wounded at the battle of Sharron. John Dunckel, jr., son of George G. and father of Peter J., was born and always lived at Frey's Bush, Montgomery county, where he followed the occupation of farming and blacksmithing, and where he died at eighty-five years of age. Peter J. Dunckel has followed grist-milling for a number of years. He owns a farm of 180 acres, besides other valuable property. His wife was Miss Lucy Woolever, a daughter of Nicholas Woolever.
