He received his education in the Herkimer schools, St. John's Military Academy, Manlius, N.Y., and Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. After the completion of his studies he entered the office of D.H. Burrell & Company, Little Falls, N.Y., and later the office of the Saxony Knitting Company of the same place. May 1, 1892, he was elected assistant cashier of the "Old" Herkimer Bank, Herkimer, N.Y., which position he now holds. Mr. Earl is a trustee of the village of Herkimer, and has the distinction of being the youngest member ever elected to that board. He is a Mason and a member of several social organizations. He is a son of the late eminent Samuel Earl and a nephew of Chief Judge Robert Earl of the Court of Appeals of the State of New York.
