The grandfather Thomas Ellsworth was a native of Vermont. The ancestry on both sides of the family is English, Sir John Kinney having been an ancestor on the mother's side. Myron K. married, December 3, 1868, Mary E., a daughter of Wm. H. and Elizabeth (Flagg) Van Dusen of Frankfort. They have three children living, Minnie, Helen L. and Elmer M. Mr. Ellsworth was a soldier, enlisting in the 2d Regiment, Company K., N.Y. Heavy Artillery, taking part in the battles of the Wilderness, Spottsylvania Court House, Tolopotomy Creek, North Ann River, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, two raids across the James River and other engagements until the close of the war. In 1890, compelled by ill health to leave the farm, he moved to the village of Frankfort and engaged in the business of real estate and insurance. He was also a justice of the peace.
