His family is of New England descent, having settled in this State about 1800. After passing several years in the employ of different representative firms of Little Falls and Dolgeville, established his present ready-made clothing and men's furnishing store about two years ago. In February 1892 he was elected town clerk, which position he still most acceptably fills. He married a Miss Jackson, and they have one son.
