The grandfather. Rev. Aaron Goodier, clergyman, was born in England and educated for the ministry, preaching there for several years. He came to this country when thirty-five years of age and was during his active life a minister of the Gospel, living in the town of Litchfield, where he was a large land owner. Abigail Kendall, the mother, was a daughter of Ammi Kendall, contractor, a native of Massachusetts. James G. was married May 1, 1872, to Mary A. Slaughter of Litchfield. Until 1888 he lived in Litchfield when he moved to the village of Frankfort where he now lives; He is justice of the peace and does a real estate and collecting business.
