After securing a good education in the schools there he learned the machinist trade in Saxony, at which trade he worked for some years. In 1877 he came to America and entered the employ of Alfred Dolge as superintendent of the machinist department, which position he stll holds. Mr. Guenther married Miss Annie Dolge, a sister of Alfred Dolge. They have one child, a boy.
