He has been president of the Norwich Corners Cemetery Association for about ten years, since its organization. He was supervisor of this town for five years in succession. He taught school in this and adjoining towns twenty- four terms and holds a State certificate. He is now a farmer, owning about 125 acres. He was born May 3, 1823, on the farm where he now lives. His father, Captain Josiah Harrison, came from North Brantford, Conn., about 1809. He was a captain of militia in the war of 1812 and was stationed at Sackett's Harbor. He died September 14, 1864, aged seventy-eight. Horace L. Harrison married Mary N., daughter of James Groves, of New Hartford, Oneida county, and they have four children: Jennie R, Hattie A., Henry E. and Gertie M. Lavina Harrison died October 20, 1870, aged eighty-seven years.
