Author: Hardin & Willard

Hayes, John L., was born in Otsego county. N. Y., March 3, 1850. He received a
good education in the schools of that county, and was appointed to a position 
in the assembly chamber at Albany. About fourteen years ago he established his 
present liquor business here in Little Falls. Mr. Hayes has served as 
constable two years.  His wife was Lida Upright, and they have two daughters 
and a son.
